Prosecutors demand 50-year prison sentence for Kay Flock

Bronx rapper Kay Flock is scheduled to be sentenced this month after being found guilty of RICO charges, and prosecutors are seeking a 50-year sentence.

In March, Flock was convicted of racketeering conspiracy, use of a firearm resulting in death, attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and use of a firearm for attempted murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Ahead of his sentencing on December 16th, prosecutors are asking the judge to put him behind bars for half a century.

According to AllHipHop, the US Attorney’s Office described the rapper as “the leader of a violent street gang” who “used his influence to transform the neighbourhood gang Sev Side into a highly visible, influential, and violent entity.”

His role as a gang boss allegedly makes him “a grave danger to the public,” leaving “families robbed of their sons, brothers, and fathers.”

Assistant US Attorney Michael R Herman said, “Over the course of less than 18 months, [Kay Flock] and his fellow gang members engaged in a campaign of violence, deepening existing gang rivalries and instigating new feuds where none had previously existed.”

He continued, “Dozens of people were shot at, injured, and even killed during this short period of time, due to the increased gang violence whipped up, in large part, by [Kay Flock].”

Flock released his debut mixtape, The D.O.A. Tape, through Universal Music Group in 2021. The project includes songs like ‘PSA’ with 211 million Spotify streams, as well as ‘Is Ya Ready’ with 150 million streams.

Over the years, he’s collaborated with Cardi B, Gucci Mane, Lil Tjay, G Herbo, Fivio Foreign, and many others.
