Kanye West scraps Playboi Carti collaborative album
Kanye West has revealed he’s scrapping his joint project with Playboi Carti after claiming he was blocked from appearing on the Atlanta rapper’s new album. Carti released Music on March 14th but Ye was notably absent from the body of work.
The Chicago rapper alleges Carti didn’t include him in the project because of “Jewish business,” adding that he ran into the same issues with Travis Scott’s 2023 album Utopia.
“Jewish business forced Carti to not put me on the album,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Same thing happened with Trav.”
Kanye went on to open up about a collaborative album he and Carti were working on titled Carti Ye, but the ship has now sailed.
“WE WERE WORKING ON PROJECT CALLED CARTI YE,” he said. “IM SORRY THAT THIS WONT HAPPEN NOW. From Carti’s actual twin.”
Ye clarified that Carti wasn’t in the wrong, continuing to claim that Jewish people had coerced his collaborators into not working with him. He also claimed Ty Dolla $ign was forced to condemn his antisemitic comments.
“Carti ain’t do nothing wrong,” he added. “This how the Jewish mob practice coercion to get all my family not to work with me. They made Ty write the words HATE SPEECH. And it’s the same thing they did with Trav.”
Despite not appearing on Carti’s new album, Kanye recently praised several songs on Music, including ‘Crank’ and ‘I Seeeeee You Baby Boi’. However, he voiced his disapproval of Kendrick Lamar’s features.
“I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC,” he wrote on social media last week. “HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”
