Kanye West and Nicki Minaj’s former bodyguard dies in car crash
Kanye West and Nicki Minaj’s former bodyguard has died in a car accident.
Mason Haynes, who has protected many A-list celebrities, passed away on July 4th, just two days before his 53rd birthday.
According to a GoFundMe page, Haynes lost his life in a road traffic accident, leaving behind his wife Fay, his daughter, Brooke, and his son, Noah.
“Some people pass through life,” the page read. “Others leave a mark on everyone they meet. Mason Haynes was one of those rare, exceptional people. Since his passing, hundreds of messages have poured in from people whose lives Mason changed. Reading them, one thing becomes impossible to ignore. Everyone describes the same man.”
Haynes has previously been hired by Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kevin Hart, Charlie Puth, and Lewis Hamilton, Sabrina Carpenter, and David Beckham.
The tribute continued, “A man who made people feel welcome from the moment they met him. A man who would cross countries to help a friend. A man who never let a loved one down and who saw the deep qualities in people that others often overlooked. A protector. A mentor. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart.”
Haynes’ family are looking to raise $18,000 to “ease some of the immediate financial pressures that inevitably follow such a sudden and devastating loss.”
They say that the money will give them “the time and space to grieve, heal and begin rebuilding their lives.”
Paying tribute, his employer, Trojan Security UK, also wrote on Instagram, “We would like to pay homage to an absolute legend in the Close Protection game. Big Mason. Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high brother.”
