Kanye West accuses GAP of stealing his designs

Everybody who follows hip hop knows that Kanye West can be a bit of a live wire, and sometimes his so-called genius leads to craziness. Admitting that he suffers from bipolar, West has had his fair share of feuds and rants over the years. Whether that be his recent taunting of Pete Davidson or his infamous TMZ interview preaching about slavery, Ye has undoubtedly shown his crazy side.

However, recently, Kanye has turned his attention to fashion brand GAP, taking to social media to accuse them of stealing his designs. Taking to Instagram with his evidence, West posted a photo of fluorescent, iridescent Yeezy reflective sunglasses with the caption, “Gap held a meeting about me without me?”

Later that day, he posted more evidence in his tirade against the clothing company with which he has a collaborative deal through his own Yeezy brand. The next evidential exhibit was a screenshot showing a series of text messages. One of the messages read, “This is GAP copying YGEBB,” YGEBB being an acronym for the rapper’s upcoming Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collaboration.

The rapper insists that recent GAP t-shirts are his designs and that products are getting the go-ahead without his permission. Furthermore, the rapper is sure that the company are having meetings and making moves behind his back. In a post, he explained that they had cancelled plans declaring “they cancelled the photo shoot with my kids in Japan without me knowing.”

To end his tirade, West posted a video in which he seems to be lecturing members of GAP about what he is trying to achieve. During the lecture, he exclaims, “This is not celebrity marketing. This is not a collaboration. This is a life mission!” He further wrote an explanation as to why he decided to partner up with GAP, “I signed with both Adidas and Gap because it contractually stated they would build permanent stores, which neither company has done even though I saved both of those companies at the same time,”

Another outburst from West, hip hop is highly desensitised to his antics, and this will not come as a surprise to many. You can see the rapper’s lecture below.
