A judge has rejected Pooh Shiesty following his renewed attempt to be released on bond.

Shiesty is accused of robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane at a Dallas studio in an attempt to release himself from his recording contract.

The Memphis rapper was denied bail in April, with his legal team responding by asking the new judge to review and reconsider the previous judge’s decision.

However, according to Complex, Judge David C Godbey rejected him for a second time on July 21st.

In a statement, his lawyer, Kent Schaffer, said, “We are disappointed that the judge rejected our proposal, but we are not totally surprised. Now we will move on to the next phase, preparing for trial.”

Shiesty’s attorney requested home confinement, stating, “Lontrell needs to be out so he can fight for his freedom.” They agreed to strict conditions, including regular drug testing, major travel restrictions, wearing a GPS monitor for 24-hour monitoring, and avoiding all contact with co-defendants or alleged victims.

Their application read, “The FBI knew about this alleged offence on the night it occurred. The Government did nothing… The Government cannot have it both ways: if Mr Williams was truly the violent threat the Government now portrays, the decision to leave him unsupervised in the community for eighty days is inexplicable.”

It added, “If that decision was reasonable, then the Government’s current dangerousness argument is overstated.”

Shiesty was arrested in April for the alleged January incident, alongside his father and fellow rapper Big30. The trial is set to begin on February 22nd, 2027.

In his previous bond denial, US Magistrate Judge Renée Harris Toliver wrote, “Based on the credible evidence presented at the hearing, the court finds probable cause to believe that defendant committed the law violations alleged in the criminal complaint.”
