Jill Scott has been forced to deny rumours that her sex tape has been leaked.
Rumours began to spread on Twitter that a graphic video featuring Scott had circulated on the platform through DMs. However, this was news to the neo-soul singer, who was bemused by the fiasco and decided to set the record straight to her followers.
“Say word!?!” she tweeted alongside GIF of herself bowing onstage to a gigantic crowd. “I expect this energy when my new movies, albums and tv show drop. Ya’ll too much. #headedbacktowork #hydrate.”
The talk of the sex tape began from just one salacious post, but it made a certain faction on Twitter briefly lose their minds until they collectively realised that there was no video.
One fan was gunning for the originator of the vicious lie, posted, “It’s no Jill Scott sex tape that mf was lying. How you gone start a rumor like that ?! Report his account.”
Meanwhile, another added, “You know what, if y’all lying about this Jill Scott flic you’re going to hell and ya mami cant save ya.”
Scott did well to treat the episode with humour and not get beaten up by the falsities, which spread like wildfire on social media. This was far from the start to the year she envisaged, and it was only a few days ago she tweeted out her grand plans for 2022, “Joyfully Abundant, Remarkably Healthy, New Year Love Village!!! Speak specifics. We’re manifesting like crazy round here. BE SUUPPPEERRRR SPECIFIC,” Scott shared.
