Jay-Z’s alleged son files motion to withdraw paternity lawsuit
A man filed a paternity lawsuit against Jay-Z, claiming the rapper is his father. However, Rymire Satterthwaite has now decided to drop the case.
On July 22nd, the 31-year-old filed a motion to withdraw in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
“Plaintiff Rymire Satterthwaite Pro Se submits this notice of withdrawal from this complaint as a party to the action,” read the filing, obtained by XXL. “The defendants have not filed an answer to the above complaint.”
The news comes just weeks after Jay-Z accused Satterthwaite of harassment in court and asked a federal judge to intervene.
“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed – and rejected — in multiple other courts and [Satterthwaite’s] continued harassment of [Jay-Z] and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order,” documents read.
“[Jay-Z] will be irreparably prejudiced without additional time to evaluate and prepare his response to the complaint.”
Satterthwaite claimed Jay was trying to silence him about being his dad. His complaint read, “[Jay-Z] is the biological father of Satterthwaite.”
The man alleged his late mother, Wanda, had relations with Jay in the ’90s. He claimed he received “unrelenting efforts by [Jay-Z] and his enablers to suppress the truth and silence those who dared to speak it.”
In December, he said, “It is both heartbreaking and frustrating to see Mr Carter respond to allegations with such deflection and attacks. My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 years old when she became pregnant with me, and for years I have sought clarity about my identity.”
He added, “This is not about greed or spectacle—it’s about uncovering the truth and ensuring all parties are held accountable.”
