Jay-Z’s alleged secret son blasts rapper getting his mother pregnant at 16 amid rape claims
A man who claims to be Shawn ‘Jay-Z‘ Carter’s son has hit out at the rapper after he was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, which he vehemently denies. Rymir Satterthwaite, who has been trying and failing to prove that Carter is his father for over ten years, has weighed in on the recent allegations.
In the lawsuit filed over the weekend, a woman claimed that during an after-party for the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, Carter removed her clothes, held her down and raped her while Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and an unnamed female celebrity watched. She alleged that Combs then raped her as Carter and the woman watched.
While speaking to the Daily Mail, 31-year-old Satterthwaite revealed his disappointment over Carter’s response to the allegations, referencing his mother being 16 years old when the ’99 Problems’ rapper allegedly got her pregnant.
“It is both heartbreaking and frustrating to see Mr. Carter respond to allegations with such deflection and attacks,” he said. “My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 years old when she became pregnant with me, and for years I have sought clarity about my identity. This is not about greed or spectacle—it’s about uncovering the truth and ensuring all parties are held accountable.”
Satterthwaite’s mother alleged that she had sex with Carter in 1992 when she was 16 and he was 22, claiming they had “protected sex” but that the “protection broke.”
In a statement following the recent lawsuit being filed, Carter immediately denied the sexual assault claims, speaking out about protecting children and stating that the actions being described deserve jail time.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!” he wrote. “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Given his comments about children, Satterthwaite believes Carter should carry the same sentiment into giving him the time of day. “Despite my efforts, Mr. Carter has never once written a letter to me to address these claims – whether to deny or acknowledge paternity or to address why his attorneys committed this fraud,” he said.
He continued, “If Mr. Carter values the ideals of honour and protecting children, as he claims in his letter, he should step forward with transparency. He continues to deflect and avoid. I remain committed to seeking the truth and justice for myself, my mother all those who deserve answers and accountability.”
In 2010, through a Pennsylvania court, Wanda requested that Carter and her high school sweetheart, Robert Graves, take a paternity test to find out the father of her son. Graves was confirmed to have no biological relation to Satterthwaite.
According to Satterthwaite, Carter has constantly avoided taking a test through his legal team. In the end, the case was reportedly dismissed due to him being over the age of 18, with Pennsylvania state law ruling that paternity must be confirmed before adulthood.
