J Cole confronts Cam’ron face-to-face over $500,000 lawsuit
J Cole has confronted Cam’ron face-to-face after the Dipset rapper filed a lawsuit against him last year.
Cam sued Cole for $500,000 in October for allegedly failing to honour an agreement following their ‘Ready 24’ collaboration.
He claimed he was denied full credit and compensation for the song and that Cole failed to reciprocate with a feature or a podcast appearance.
On March 22nd, Cam took to Instagram to reveal that Cole would be appearing on an upcoming episode of his Talk with Flee podcast. In the clip, Cole walks into the room, with Cam saying, “What’s up, man?” Cole replies, “I’m just saying, like, a lawsuit, bruh? Lawyers?”
Cam responds, “You know it wasn’t like that,” before Cole’s words cut off and the clip ends. The episode is set to be released later this week.
In the caption, Cam wrote, “Come on bro, u know it wasn’t even like that. @realcoleworld this Tuesday on @talkwithflee Streaming Wednesday on YT.”
Cole’s appearance on the podcast is fitting considering the allegations in the lawsuit. Cam claimed that he asked the Dreamville rapper to appear on his show after giving up on a song appearance.
However, Cam alleged that Cole was hesitant about coming on the podcast, given that he would have needed to address his feud with Kendrick Lamar.
Cole filed an official response in February, with his lawyer writing, “Plaintiff asked Cole to appear on his podcast, and he and Cole discussed the possibility of Cole appearing on plaintiff’s podcast, but no commitment was ever made by Cole to do so nor was there any agreement or condition related to ‘Ready 24’ to do so.”
‘Ready 24’ appeared on Cole’s Might Delete Later mixtape, which was released in April 2024.
