Gucci Mane signee Foogiano has been released from prison after spending five years behind bars.
The 32-year-old (real name Kwame Brown) was sent to prison after removing his ankle monitor while out on bond following a 2021 firearm possession case.
Producer SpiffoMadeIt took to his Instagram Stories on April 21st to share a selfie with the caption, “No more Free Foo.”
Foogiano shared various photos on Instagram during his incarceration, including a message to his 800,000 followers in 2023.
“Message from The Mayor,” he wrote. “I know y’all haven’t heard from me in a minute I just been keeping my head up counting down these days until I get back. In the meantime I want y’all to go fw my n*gga @Z6SAINT. He the hottest young n*gga coming out Atlanta and I stamp that. Get widd it or get ran over. I’ll be back soon…”
The rapper was arrested in December 2020 for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and released on bail with an ankle monitor. However, he cut off the ankle monitor and went on the run before being caught in 2021.
Foogiano released his debut album Gutta Baby via Atlantic Records in November 2020. It featured Gucci, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Jacquees, Tay Keith, and others.
While Foogiano is now a free man, Gucci’s other artist, Pooh Shiesty, is currently behind bars for allegedly kidnapping and robbing him at gunpoint.
Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr), his father, Lontrell Williams Sr, and fellow rapper Big30 (Rodney Lamont Wright Jr) were among many people arrested in an “armed takeover.”
The incident allegedly took place at a music studio, with Shiesty attempting to be released from his recording contract.
