FBI reveals Gucci Mane gave statement to police about kidnapping
Gucci Mane gave police officers a statement about his alleged kidnapping earlier this year.
Pooh Shiesty, his father, and fellow rapper Big30 were among eight people who were arrested last week for allegedly robbing and kidnapping the ‘Lemonade’ artist.
According to the Dallas Observer‘s Bryson Paul, FBI Agent Handon testified and admitted that Gucci gave a statement to the Dallas Police Department about the incident.
Shiesty’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, questioned the agent about Gucci allegedly being pushed onto a couch and having guns pointed at him.
In response, Handson said that Gucci told his security team, who are former Detroit Police officers, “We’re out-gunned.” Shiesty shook his head in disagreement when Handson said that Gucci told his security to “put the gun down.”
The alleged violent incident took place at Luminous Studios in Far North Dallas on January 10th. It was described as an “armed takeover,” which allegedly involved the door being barricaded.
US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, said, “[Shiesty] produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint.”
He continued, “The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewellery, cash and other high-value items. One of the victims was actually choked by one of the victims to near-unconsciousness.”
Three people are accused of going to the music studio to discuss Shiesty’s record deal, which turned into Gucci being forced to sign a label deal release at gunpoint.
Shiesty signed a record deal with Gucci’s 1017 label in 2020. His 2021 project, Shiesty Season, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. He also achieved hit singles, with ‘Back in Blood’ reaching number 13 and ‘FDO’ hitting number 12.
