Fourth man arrested in murder of Fontana rapper

The fourth and final suspect in the murder of Fontana rapper Chris King has been arrested.

The 32-year-old (real name Christopher Cheeks), best known for ‘Back of My Mind’ with Trippie Redd, was shot and killed on Hayes Street in Nashville in April 2024.

According to Fox 17, police officers arrested 21-year-old Jason Valentine during a traffic stop on Glenrose Avenue on May 5th.

Valentine is being held on a $500,000 bond and faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and gun offences.

His arrest marks the last arrest as part of the police investigation following 33-year-old Trayvon Palmer, 30-year-old Amir Carroll, and 21-year-old Adrian Cameron Jr. Each of the three men are facing first-degree murder charges and remain behind bars.

King was allegedly in an alleyway near a recording studio when a group of men attempted to rob him and fired bullets, before escaping to the Hayes Street Hotel car park.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. As well as King, another man was wounded in the gunfire but survived the incident.

King was friends with both Justin Bieber and Trippie Redd, who both paid tribute on social media after his death. Taking to Instagram Bieber wrote, “Love you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother.”

Trippie added, “I am so hurt rn I can’t even think I love you bro come back!!!!! I can’t catch a break. I would not be where I am today without Chris King. He had the best energy always he had so many friends and it shows I love you guys for supporting one of my best friends ever my brother.”
