Four men sentenced to life in Florida prison for Foolio murder
Four men have been sentenced to life behind bars for the murder of Foolio.
In May, 23-year-old Isaiah Chance, 20-year-old Sean Gathright, 32-year-old Rashad Murphy, and 29-year-old Davion Murphy were found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, each of the men were sentenced to life in prison without parole on June 22nd.
Speaking in court, Hillsborough County Judge Michelle Sisco told them, “I hope you continue to make choices, and then you realise you do have value and you can contribute. And you started today by speaking to the members of your community, particularly the younger men, that this is not the way to go.”
Foolio was shot and killed on June 23rd, 2024, at the age of 26. He was ambushed in the car park of a hotel in Tampa, Florida.
Gathright and both of the Murphys were also convicted of attempted second-degree murder for injuring other people during the shooting.
Chance and the Murphys were found to be criminal gang members, and their crimes were done in furtherance of gang activity.
A fifth suspect, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter in October 2025. She was sentenced to 15 years in May.
Her lawyer, Jeremy McClymont, said, “Miss Andrews’ role is very much minor compared to those of her co-defendants in this case. We obviously believe the facts of this case don’t amount to a manslaughter charge.”
Prosecutors claimed Andrews and her boyfriend, Isaiah Chance, travelled from Jacksonville to Tampa and followed Foolio around the city. They were accused of giving his location to the other men, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy, who allegedly shot the rapper.
