Foolio killer gets five years added to Florida prison sentence for punching officer
One of the men convicted of killing Foolio has been sentenced to five extra years behind bars.
Last month, 29-year-old Davion Murphy was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Now, he’s facing even more trouble. According to XXL, Murphy was handed an extra five years on July 15th due to an incident in jail.
Murphy reportedly got into a physical altercation with a corrections officer, allegedly punching the officer in the face. He signed off on pleading guilty on June 29th, with the extra five years running concurrently with his previous sentence. He has been given 536 days of time served.
The man was sentenced alongside his brother, 32-year-old Rashad Murphy, as well as 23-year-old Isaiah Chance and 20-year-old Sean Gathright, who were hit with the same charges.
Foolio was shot and killed on June 23rd, 2024, at 26 years old. He was ambushed in the car park of a hotel in Tampa, Florida.
Gathright and both of the Murphys were also convicted of attempted second-degree murder for injuring other people. Chance and the Murphys were also found to be criminal gang members, and their crimes were done in furtherance of gang activity.
Despite maintaining his innocence, Davion had a message for Gen Z. “Change your life and do something productive with your life because in this predicament, it ain’t worth it,” he said.
In a separate trial, Alicia Andrews was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years.
Her lawyer said, “Miss Andrews’ role is very much minor compared to those of her co-defendants in this case. We obviously believe the facts of this case don’t amount to a manslaughter charge.”
