Foolio killer’s family claim they are receiving threats and harassment
The family of a man convicted of killing Foolio have claimed that they are receiving threats and harassment.
The Florida rapper was shot and killed in Tampa in June 2024, with four men recently found guilty of murder.
Following the conviction, Sean Gathright’s family started a GoFundMe page with hopes of raising $24,000. However, only $900 has been raised so far.
Gathright’s family took to Instagram on May 18th to address the fundraising campaign and reveal the hate they have received.
“We want to address recent reports being made against Sean’s GoFundMe,” a statement read. “While we completely understand that not everyone will choose to support, going as far as reporting the fundraiser, sending threats and harassing not only Sean but also his loved ones and family members is truly mean-spirited and completely out of control.”
The statement continued, “To those that do not support [Sean], we respectfully ask that you simply block, disengage and move forward toward causes you do support rather than hate, threats and negativity.”
20-year-old Gathright was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder on May 8th, alongside 23-year-old Isaiah Chance, 32-year-old Rashad Murphy, and 29-year-old Davion Murphy.
On May 15th, the jury voted against the death penalty, recommending life imprisonment for each of the men.
Gathright recently apologised to Foolio’s family for the actions that led to their loss. “I want to say my deepest condolences,” he said in court. “I understand that it’s hard losing a child, a best friend, a brother, a cousin. For that, I just cannot say sorry enough.”
Another person, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter in October 2025 and is awaiting sentencing.
