Flint rapper sentenced to life in prison on murder charges

Flint rapper Cliff Mac has been sentenced to life in prison on murder charges.

Last month, the 35-year-old (real name Clifton Eugene Terry III) was found guilty of killing Devaroe Davis in 2021.

According to Mid-Michigan Now, Mac was handed life behind bars on charges of first-degree premeditated murder on July 13th.

Elsewhere in the case, 28-year-old Andres Vela was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder and 16 other charges. 38-year-old Isiah Lejon Claiborne is still waiting to be sentenced for his conviction of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and a felony firearm.

Davis was shot dead outside the Eagle Ridge Square apartment complex near the intersection of Selby Street and East Russell Avenue in Flint on August 17th, 2021. Mac was arrested a few months later in November 2021.

Shortly after Mac was found guilty in that case, he was indicted on several murder-for-hire charges as part of 10 new counts.

The charges include conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death or personal injury, conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire resulting in personal injury, and two counts of murder-for-hire resulting in death and personal injury.

Mac is also facing two counts of murder-for-hire resulting in personal injury, and four counts of using, carrying, brandishing, and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

The indictment claims there were 11 victims from Flint, Mt Morris, Burton, and Sterling Heights in the alleged incidents.

Mac is known locally as “The King of Flint” and has made a name for himself with big songs like ‘Back2Back Freestyle’, ‘Calling Me’, and ‘Ain’t Letting Shit Slide’.
