Flint rapper found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder

Michigan rapper Cliff Mac has been found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder.

The 35-year-old (real name Clifton Eugene Terry III) was convicted of killing Devaroe Davis in 2021.

According to Mid-Michigan Now, Mac was found guilty of a total of 12 felonies on June 9th, including the murder conviction.

Davis was shot and killed outside the Eagle Ridge Square apartment complex near the intersection of Selby Street and East Russell Avenue in Flint on August 17th, 2021.

As well as Mac, two others were convicted in the death of Davis, including 28-year old Andres Vela and 38-year-old Isiah Lejon Claiborne.

Vela was also found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, while Claiborne was convicted of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.

Mac is facing a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 10th. Both Vela and Claiborne will be sentenced on the same day.

Prosecutor David Leyton said, “This verdict represents justice for Devaroe Davis and his family. It is also a significant victory for the community because it removes from our streets one of the top crime drivers in the Flint area, someone we believe is responsible for countless violent crimes and homicides over a period of years.”

In addition to the murder of Davis, Mac is accused of being involved in two other deaths that took place in Burton in 2020.

Mac is best known for songs such as ‘Back2Back Freestyle’, ‘Calling Me’, ‘Ain’t Letting Shit Slide’, and ‘Savage’, which have hundreds of thousands of streams on YouTube. The rapper, also known as “The King of Flint,” has over 13,500 Instagram followers.
