Family of Enchanting release statement following her death
Earlier this week, it was announced that Texas rapper Enchanting was on life support. However, it was later reported that, unfortunately, she had passed away. The Fort Worth female emcee was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, but her death severely impacted hip-hop.
The 26-year-old lyricist was an up-and-coming artist, and her death was announced unexpectedly by her sister Kayy Jayy on Instagram, who had previously dispelled rumours on Facebook that Enchanting was dead while on life support.
Following her death, tributes came flooding in for the artist, including one from Gucci Mane, who wrote, “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady, a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting.”
Enchanting’s family took to Instagram on June 13th to issue a statement to fans in the form of a screenshot posted to Enchanting’s Instagram. The statement was signed “the family of Enchanting Larry.”
The statement opened, “On behalf of Channing Nicole Larry aka Enchanting, we are deeply saddened to announce the death of our sweet and beloved daughter. She lived her life with grace and blessed so many with friendship, laughter and love.”
They thanked her fans for their kind words and appreciated the privacy they had been afforded following her death, writing, “We also appreciate everyone’s respect of our family’s privacy as we continue to navigate through this difficult loss”.
There’s been lots of speculation concerning how the emcee died. However, the family’s statement read, “The cause of death has not yet been determined. Thanks again.” Unfortunately, social media decided to draw conclusions.
According to a member of Enchanting’s team, “She came to my house the last four days to get clean,” they explained. “She tried her best, and I did everything I could to help her. She tried.” Enchanting’s team told hip-hop blog The Shade Room that the star had an issue with drug use.
