Gucci Mane pays tribute to Enchanting: “A true star”
Earlier this week, it was announced that the Fort Worth emcee Enchanting had passed away. The Texas artist signed with Gucci Mane in 2020 and has been a mainstay on the 1017 roster ever since.
Larry’s early demise was first revealed by her close friend LilCJ Kasino, who revealed that her family chose to take the lyricist off life support. Following the announcement , Gucci Mane took to social media to share his grief.
Uploading a picture of the late Fort Worth lyricist, Gucci Mane wrote, “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting.”
Underneath the post, many of the comments suggested that Enchanting’s death was Gucci Mane’s fault as many of his 1017 signees have ended up in bad places. Several 1017 artists, including Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Hoodrich Paolo Juan and Mac Critter, have landed themselves in prison under Gucci’s management.
Following this, the Atlanta rapper’s wife entered the conversation, writing, “Leave my husband alone! He signs these artist to help them & give them a better life! I wish it wasn’t like this! Chant we love you baby girl! RIP”
During an appearance on his wife’s podcast, All Things Keyshia Ka’Oir, last month, was asked, “Why all your 1017 artists keep going to jail?” In response to the question, Gucci replied, “Well, you know, I was one of those type of artists always going back and forth to jail, and I try help those artists I see a lot of myself in.”
The well-known hip-hop media outlet The Shade Room have reported that it has reason to believe Enchanting died from a drug overdose. However, the official cause of the emcee’s death is yet to be confirmed.
