Eminem performs ‘Till I Collapse’ at Thanksgiving halftime show

Jack White brought out Eminem for a surprise performance at the NFL Thanksgiving halftime show.

The Detroit Lions faced off against the Green Bay Packers on November 27th, which saw the Packers come out as 31-24 winners.

During White’s performance at Ford Field, Em emerged from underneath the stage to a rapturous response from the crowd.

From there, he performed his 2002 song ‘Till I Collapse’, which appeared on The Eminem Show and featured Nate Dogg.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Detroit’s own, Eminem,” White said to welcome Slim Shady to the stage, before getting straight into the first verse.

“‘Til I collapse, I’m spillin’ these raps long as you feel ’em/ ‘Til the day that I drop, you’ll never say that I’m not killin’ ’em,” he rapped. “‘Cause when I am not, then I’ma stop pennin’ ’em/ And I am not hip-hop and I’m just not Eminem.”

Coming from Detroit, Em is a devoted Lions fan. The rapper has been vocals about his passion for his home city in the past.

“You got to live it and you got to be there,” he told Shade 45. “You have to just be part of it, man. Despite all the bad shit that you hear in the press and all that shit, I love my city, and I feel like definitely Detroit – every aspect of my life – helped me, it shaped me. Detroit especially, man, like the inspiration I get from it … I love the people.”

He continued, “So, I don’t know, man, I kind of feel like, coming from Detroit, we’re the underdogs, and everyone looks down on our city. And I want to be there to say, ‘What the fuck?’ I love my city. And I take pride in it, so definitely, it made me. It shaped me in every which way possible.”
