Eminem confirms the release date of new album
Earlier this year, Eminem announced the release of a new album and finally confirmed the project’s official release date. Entitled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), after taking to social media, the Encore artist let fans know that they can expect the project to hit streaming platforms on July 12th.
Eminem (real name Marshal Mathers) shared an enthralling yet scary horror-themed trailer on X to bombard fans with the exciting news. The trailer shows a woman giving birth to a baby. However, it is not a normal birth.
After a few slaps of the baby, the mother and the doctor get the fright of their lives when the newborn opens its eyes only to find out they’re both completely black, as the baby gazes disturbingly into their faces.
As the baby opens its eyes, it suddenly begins to stick out its snake-like tongue, and a pair of devil horns grow, causing the room to scream, “Holy sh*t!” Eminem’s leading single ‘Houdini’ provides the backing track of the outro as the release date pops up on the screen.
As anticipation grows, die-hard Eminem fans are evidently excited. Underneath the trailer, one fan wrote, “I have not felt this much excitement for an album in so long,” with another commenting “Everybody stay calm‼️ It’s f*cking happening!”
The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) is Eminem’s 12th studio album and maybe his last. This is the first project the ‘Stan’ emcee has released since his 2020 LP Music To Be Murdered By to mixed reviews.
In the lead-up to the forthcoming album, Eminem intends to perform some of the songs live and has already debuted ‘Houdini’ during a concert celebrating the grand reopening of the Michigan Central Station in Detroit.
