Drakeo The Ruler’s security guard claims YG pulled out a knife in fatal Los Angeles attack

Drakeo The Ruler’s former security guard has claimed that he saw YG pull out a knife during his fatal attack.

Drakeo was stabbed to death at the Once Upon a Time in LA festival in December 2021, where Alrick Cooper III was working as a security guard.

According to The Los Angeles Times, during a recent deposition, Cooper claimed YG brandished a knife and slashed it towards him in a backstage fight.

Cooper testified that Drakeo’s group were approached by 20 to 25 people, alleging that he only recognised YG.

When an attorney asked, “He was directly involved in the fight?” he replied, “Yeah. Front and centre.”

Cooper claimed YG was wearing a ski mask but recognised him from his hazel eyes, body type, height, walk, and demeanour, having met him “a lot.”

YG was detained last week on the same day as his Verzuz battle with The Game. The California Highway Patrol and Burbank Police Department’s SWAT team searched his home in Burbank on July 23rd at around 7:30am.

Following the search, he was released and wasn’t arrested. YG was performing at the same festival as Drakeo and has publicly denied his involvement in the murder.

On the song, ‘We Know the Truth’, taken from his album The Gentlemen’s Club, he raps, “They say I murdered this, they say I murdered that/ Well, if that was true, you’d be a fucking rat/ And I’d be in the cell sleeping on a rack/ But too bad that ain’t a fucking fact.”

He continued, “All that talking on the fucking app/ The streets done, it’s a fucking wrap/ They wanna see me fall, the city wack/ Same n*gga who once brought the city back.”
