Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ alleged victims’ lawyers condemn Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globes joke

Nikki Glaser caused a stir at the Golden Globes on January 5th when she joked about Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ ongoing legal situation. Following the awards ceremony, lawyers representing Combs’ alleged victims have spoken out about the comedian’s comments.

Attorneys Ariel Mitchell and Tyrone Blackburn have criticised Glaser’s attempt at making light of the situation surrounding the alleged sexual assaults, with Mitchell saying she “hopes Nikki herself has never been sexually assaulted or mocked for it.”

According to TMZ, she added that Nikki, being a woman, should “know better” and “making light of this ugly situation is exactly why so many sexual assault victims never come forward and report their abuse.” Blackburn agreed, saying he would expect a comedian of Glaser’s stature “to find humour that doesn’t make light of drugging and rape.”

During her dialogue on stage, Glaser, who was hosting the awards show, praised Zendeya’s performances in Dune 2 and the romantic sports drama Challengers, noting the sexual elements of Luca Guadagnino’s film. On that topic, she brought up Combs, who is currently facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force and transportation for purposes of prostitution.

“Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune, oh my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” she began. “And Challengers, girl? Oh my God! That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card. I mean, seriously. I’m sorry, I’m upset too.”

She then referenced Combs’ parties, known as “freak-offs”, according to officers. “The afterparty is not going to be as good this year, but we have to move on,” she said on stage. “I know a Stanley Tucci freak-off doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

Viewers took to X to share their outrage about Glaser’s comments. One person wrote, “The issue with these Diddy jokes is that ppl swear up and down they’re poking fun of the abusers but in reality it’s poking fun at abuse the victims went through. He abused so many, which included children. Nikki Glaser is already painfully unfunny, but this is pathetic and gross.”

Another person stated, “Nikki Glaser should seriously be barred from awards like this for such a HORRIBLY MESSED UP joke. It is completely insensitive to SA victims who’ve been through such awful experiences with this vile man.”

Combs is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, with his trial set to begin on May 5th. The Bad Boy rapper is facing dozens of allegations of sexual assault.
