The question Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs asked his son during court hearing

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs reportedly addressed his son and other spectators during his appearance in Manhattan federal court on December 18th. The Bad Boy boss wore a khaki prison jumpsuit for the status hearing in the government’s case against him, where he’s accused of sex trafficking and racketeering.

At one point during the hearing, Combs appeared to mouth the words, “You OK?” One of his sons responded by nodding and clenching a fist over his heart. Combs was also seemingly in the Christmas spirit, allegedly telling spectators, “Happy holidays, y’all,” as he left the courthouse.

As he arrived in court, Combs is said to have looked towards the audience but didn’t appear to recognise anyone. When his family members arrived late, Combs turned in his chair to greet them.

According to ABC News, Combs turned to leave at the end of the hearing but then stepped back to acknowledge his lawyers when officers stopped him. “I just want to say goodbye,” he said, with his lawyers moving to hug him before leaving the courtroom.

Two of Combs’ sons, Christian and Justin, attended the hearing and arrived at court in a chauffeur-driven car surrounded by security guards. Armed police escorted them into the building, with the pair declining to respond to reporters.

Cameras weren’t allowed in the courthouse, but reporter Elizabeth Millner claimed Combs’ physical appearance had changed. “He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect [from him being] inside a federal detention centre for a couple of months now,” she said on Law & Crime Network.

She continued, “A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but [he] appeared very noticeably thinner and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to weigh on him.” Millner also said his hair looked “greyer” than usual.

US Attorney Emily Johnson told the court that some information couldn’t be revealed as there was still an ongoing investigation surrounding Combs. Despite that, she confirmed that the government intended to stick to the previously announced May 5th, 2025 trial date.

Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and has been denied bail three times after pleading not guilty.
