DDG sued over PlaqueBoyMax collaboration ‘Pink Dreads’

A lawsuit has reportedly been filed against rapper and streamer DDG over his single ‘Pink Dreads’.

The song is a collaboration with PlaqueBoyMax and was released in December 2024, later appearing on DDG’s album, Blame the Chat. ‘Pink Dreads’ has over 41 million Spotify streams and an additional 3.6 million on YouTube.

However, according to AllHipHop, DDG was recently sued over the record. Producers Delali ‘D1xoo DA’ Amenyenu and Jordan ‘5kjordn11’ Church filed a lawsuit in New York.

In the complaint, the two producers claim to have created the beat in October 2024 before sending it to DDG in December 2024.

The pair believed they would receive payment if it became a song, but ‘Pink Dreads’ was allegedly released on December 24, 2024, without a final agreement being reached.

Documents claim the song reached a “significant six-figure” revenue. LAA Music acquired a portion of D1xoo DA’s interest in the beat and claims it hasn’t paid or received an accounting of the revenue.

The lawsuit accused DDG of defamation, breach of an implied agreement, unjust enrichment, and refusal to pay a portion of the income.

DDG previously called out LAA Music and its founder, Zachary Hiller, on a Twitch stream in January 2025, claiming he was being extorted. Both the company and Hiller are asking a jury to find that the statements were false and defamatory.

‘Pink Dreads’ is currently the second most popular song on DDG’s Spotify page, with only ‘Moonwalking in Calabasas’ ahead of it.

In the chorus, he raps, “When I’m out of town, I be trippin’, I be on one/ Huh, why he takin’ pictures in that Lam’? He don’t own one/ Shades on my face, not Dior, these the Chrome ones/ He said he a rapper, I ain’t never heard his song once.”
