Bronx man crashes car into Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s New York home
A man reportedly crashed his car into the gates of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s home last week.
A 63-year-old from the Bronx allegedly drove his vehicle into the couple’s estate in East Hampton, New York.
According to Page Six, police officers stated that the man appeared to be “confused” after “driving at a high rate of speed up the driveway.”
He allegedly caused “significant damage” after failing “to stop at the closed mechanical driveway gates.”
The man was arrested for criminal trespass and criminal mischief before being taken to Stony Brook Hospital after suffering injuries, having impounded his vehicle.
Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunn said the man “has no criminal history and he seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest. He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.”
Prior to the crash, the man reportedly stopped at another home down the road and was asking for a woman by name. That person also said he “seemed confused.”
Dunn added that there were “no weapons found, no notes found, no direct threats made and no direct mention of residents of the house, so we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point.”
Jay and Bey moved into the property in 2017 after paying $26 million. It boasts seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Hov recently performed three back-to-back shows at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, bringing out his wife on two of the nights. Later this year, he has concerts planned for Los Angeles, Paris, and London to celebrate 30 years of his Reasonable Doubt album.
