Bow Wow insists “Diddy Parties” have ruined Hollywood

Bow Wow, who many in the culture still refer to as Lil Bow Wow, has been around the rich and famous for over two decades. Beginning his career as a child actor and teenage rapper, the emcee and movie star and rapper has become less relevant in recent years. However, he still receives the invites to Hollywood’s most exciting events.

That said, the former rapper recently spoke about the allegations and controversy surrounding Diddy and asserted that the Bad Boy founder’s alleged actions in the 1990s have created the stigma attached to Hollywood parties. In the eyes of Bow Wow, this has led to a decline in partying for fear of being associated with Diddy, most prevalent in Black Hollywood.

Despite affecting the hip-hop community more acutely, Bow Wow admitted that it had an impact on pop culture as a whole. During a recent appearance on the More To The Story podcast with host Rocsi Diaz, Bow Wow revealed that Diddy’s arrest has shut down Hollywood parties.

Speaking about the incarcerated mogul, the Like Mike star began, “Never. I just never thought I would see it like this! Like, nah. Nah. He’s like the gatekeeper to the game. To the point to where… What weekend just passed? Like, BET Award weekends. Like, the past two days just didn’t feel right. ‘Cause there was no motion, there was no parties.”

The ‘Let Me Hold You’ rhymer explained how the entertainment industry has come to a standstill, continuing, “There was nowhere to go. Like – no, the industry parties that we attend, [not the ‘freak-offs’]. Like, me, the you [the interviewer], the terraces. Once again, I’m separating it, right? I’m talking about him as the artist, the person, right?”

Bow Wow told Diaz that Diddy was the key and if Diddy had a party, then everyone in Hollywood would have a party and emphasised how there is “a hole” now. From the brand endorsements to the A-list attendees, he asserted that Diddy was the engine, adding, “[It shows] how monumental and how important he was to the culture! Every year, dude had the [parties]– And you feel it. It’s like a hole, it’s like, ‘Damn.’ He was just such a gatekeeper from the liquor in the clubs. Like, he was everything hip-hop. You know what I mean? So for that to die out, it’s like, you just would’ve never thought.”

He continued, “Especially when you look at somebody as somebody you studied, somebody you idolised, somebody who you looked at like, ‘Yo. When it comes to hustle, when it comes to business, and how to run your s**t?'”

Although it may not be true now, Bow Wow claimed that when he was young in the 1990s, Diddy was everyone’s business idol, concluding, “It’s like, he was the guy that every young hustler looked up to and wanted to either be like or wanted to… ‘Nah, I’ma pass this n***a.’ Like, I want to pass this n***a! Like, he just makes me…. He just stepped your hustle game up, you know what I mean? So it’s sad and it’s messed up that we got to witness this in this time. But it’s f***ed up. Oh, absolutely, 100%, [I got to sympathize for his kids, too].”
