Dame Dash claims Diddy was spiking Cîroc to make people “gay”
During the late 1990s, Roc-a-Fella and Bad Boy Entertainment were the two big Black-owned record labels operating in New York, which should have caused tension. However, Jay-Z ended up being quite close with Diddy, and so was Dame Dash. Dame has now noted he always had reservations about the now-disgraced mogul.
During the 2000s, a slew of MCs began investing in alcoholic beverages, more specifically spirits and champagne. As such, in 2007, Diddy took control of the French vodka company Cîroc. As the president of the company, with a huge salary and a major stake in the business, Diddy turned the relatively minor brand into a multi-billion dollar company and phenomenon that was highly popular in the hip-hop community. However, Dame Dash is under the illusion that Diddy was spiking bottles of Cîroc at his parties to turn rappers “gay.”
During a conversation on his America Nu Network, Dash declared, “What’s crazy to me is if his hustle is putting stuff in people’s drinks, he made a liquor. I mean, that’s the illest shit in the world that everyone was partying, and you don’t know what was in that drink!”
Dash stated that if the allegations are true and the Bad Boy founder did sexually abuse unconscious people at his parties, then he must have used some sort of drug, clarifying, “If he was — pause — undercover gay, ’cause I didn’t know it, and obviously if he was knocking men out and they were waking up violated, he’s making somebody gay that doesn’t wanna be gay. So I’m like, ‘What was in them drinks?’”
The Roc-a-Fella co-founder then began to speak about the lack of masculinity in contemporary hip-hop and expressed his disdain for the outlandish fashion that was ushered in and made acceptable during the 2010s, stating, “And then I’m starting to think, ‘Damn, when did hip-hop start to lose its masculinity?’ No disrespect to nobody, but tough n-ggas started wearing dresses and pocketbooks. I’m just thinking it through — maybe that could be the reason why hip-hop took a turn for the feminine.”
Dash reflected on all the allegations made against Diddy and asked how the people around him trusted him to make drinks, knowing what they allegedly did, adding, “If homie was really putting shit in people’s drinks and he’s making the liquor… I’m not even saying it to be funny, but they saying he was putting shit in muthafuckas’ baby oil, so how could you trust that person to serve you drinks at such a big scale?”
The Roc-a-Fella co-founder previously reflected on a 2020 appearance he had on the Drink Champs podcast with Noreaga and DJ EFN. More specifically, he focused on the former’s eagerness to drink Cîroc and pointed to the end result as potential proof that Diddy’s beverage is dodgy.
Recalling the event, Dash explained how Noreaga was pushing him to drink the vodka, stating, “I’m like, ‘Nah.’ I brought my own liquor! I made him take shots of Cîroc, and then he ended up getting too drunk, talking about, ‘Take your shirt off.’ It’s on tape.”
Although everything Dash said on his America Nu Network show was hypothetical, many of his allegations, especially surrounding the mass spiking of Cîroc sold in liquor stores are unsubstantiated and there is no evidence to support his outrageous claims.
