Boosie Badazz accepts plea deal on federal gun charges

Boosie Badazz has accepted a plea deal in his federal gun case. The Baton Rouge rapper appeared in court on August 4th for the charges from years ago.

Boosie was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm in San Diego in June 2023. Officers spotted him with a gun in an Instagram video, which was a crime due to Boosie previously being convicted on drug charges in 2011.

The case was dismissed in July 2024, but prosecutors refiled the case with some changes later that same month.

A hearing is scheduled for August 26th, revealing exactly what Boosie pleaded guilty to. Following the decision, Boosie took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the plea, which was made clear after speaking to his family.

“JUST ACCEPTED A PLEA FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON MY GUN CASE,” he told his 1.3 million followers. “I THOUGHT THIS CASE WAS OVER N I WAS GOING TO GET ON WITH MY LIFE BUT ‘GOD DONT MAKE MISTAKES’ N IM TIRED OF FIGHTING!!”

He added, “TALKED TO MY FAMILY N THIS IS THE RIGHT DECISION. TO ALL MY FANS ACROSS THE WORLD SAY A PRAYER FOR YA BOY N GO GET THE NEW ALBUM #wordsofarealone.”

Boosie is currently out on a $100,000 bond. On August 1st, he released his new album, Words of a Real One, which comprises 13 songs.

He previously requested a presidential pardon from Donald Trump in January. “Trump check my case out,” he wrote on social media. “My case was dismissed but Biden’s DOJ recharged me with the same gun charge Biden pardon his son of.

“I was told I am the only person in the country facing that charge now. President Trump, I already was given a 10 year sentence n state n 2009 for 3rd offense marijuana (grams, grams, grams). I never was even offered rehab straight to prison.”
