Boosie Badazz arrested by federal agents

For the past few months, Boosie Badazz has been riding off the momentum of his latest release Lines For Valentines. Although he has just wrapped up court proceedings, Badazz has just been arrested by federal agents in San Diego.

Badazz had previously been working on his latest album when appearing in court on Wednesday for a gun possession charge. The incident stemmed from a traffic stop that Badazz was involved in a month prior.

Though Badazz had won the case and was led off, he was taken into police custody by federal agents shortly after the hearing was over. A statement given to XXL on Badazz behalf read, “Boosie asks for prayers as he deals with this unfortunate circumstance in his life. He hopes that he can rejoin his family soon and knows that God got him”.

Badazz had previously been known for his animosity towards wrongful law enforcement in the song ‘Fuck the Police’. Elsewhere, Badazz has also used his royalties to help raise money for the attacker of fellow rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.

This also comes after Badazz’s friend and fellow rapper YNW Melly was on trial for double murder, which Badazz had attended. Despite appearing at Melly’s trial, Badazz was chastised by the father of YNW Juvy, the victim in the murder.

Taking to Instagram Live, Badazz expressed a desire to become a defense attorney to help others not have to deal with similar circumstances. Badazz stated (via HipHopDX): “I’m not missing no more rap murder trials. This shit is education no cap watching the defense n prosecution drop bars then looking at the jurors tryin to read them is crazy. I want to study law, I wanna try it, I think I can be a defense attorney or at least help some attorneys out. I’m motivated”.

Though the arrests have been made by The San Diego Police Department, the force have not given any statement as to why Badazz was taken into custody. Lines For Valentines was released on February 13th, 2023.
