Boosie Badazz accused of attacking nightclub security guard in Houston

Boosie Badazz has been hit with an aggravated assault charge in Houston.

The Baton Rouge rapper (real name Torence Hatch) has been accused of smashing a glass hookah base over the head of a nightclub bouncer.

According to TMZ, the alleged incident took place at the Dome nightclub on May 24th.

Houston Police claim the security guard, named Edward Iglehart, was getting people out of the club when he got into an altercation with a woman who wanted to use the bathroom.

Iglehart says that after refusing to let her use the toilet because the nightclub was closed, she elbowed him in the face.

After leading her out of the club, she allegedly dropped her phone and keys on the floor. Iglehart claims he “suddenly felt an object strike the top of his head” and saw blood falling down his face.

The security guard claims he looked up and saw Boosie holding the hookah base, believing he was the culprit. Iglehart was taken to St Joseph Hospital and required eight staples in his head.

The woman who needed to use the toilet was Boosie’s niece, according to the club’s owners and promoters. The rapper’s bail was set at $85,000, and he’s scheduled to appear in court on June 8th.

Boosie took to social media to address the legal case, claiming it’s a “money grab.” His lawyer, Carl A Moore, added, “We plan to vigorously investigate and defend Mr Hatch against these allegations – we wish everyone would reserve any judgement and allow this case to play out in court.”

He adds, “Mr Hatch was trying to defend his female relative who was being escorted out of the club by the security guard. He was trying to deescalate the situation. We’re trying to obtain any surveillance from the club that will show what exactly happened.”
