Bone Thugs-N-Harmony honoured with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week.

The iconic Cleveland group headed to Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles on July 8th for their own ceremony.

Fat Joe, Ice-T, and radio host Big Boy spoke during the presentation, with Katt Williams, Ray J, Lil Eazy-E, and Ras Kass also in attendance.

Speaking at the event, Joe said, “They say I exaggerate. But what if I told you, I’ve been to 10 of these, and I’ve never seen people out in the street like they are for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony right now.”

He continued, “I owe a great deal to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. These guys went, and they was the Michael Jacksons. They went and sold like 30 million records; I sold like two copies. They never acted funny with me.”

Ice-T followed on from Joe’s comments, stating that Bone Thugs were always original and sounded like no other artists.

“Our era of hip-hop, Fat Joe, you had to be original,” he said. “You couldn’t sound like anybody else. When Bone Thugs hit the scene, they were like nothing we had ever heard. When you see five cats that can all rap that good similarly, I’m like, ‘Where did these n*ggas come from? Cleveland.”

Members of Bone Thugs, Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Layzie Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-N-Bone, all spoke at the event.

Layzie Bone said, “All I ever wanted to see was my homeboys successful, man. All I ever wanted in life was for us to prosper… Thank y’all for coming out, thank y’all for supporting us. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, we are brothers.”

At their peak, Bone Thugs scored two number one albums on the Billboard 200 with E 1999 Eternal and The Art of War.
