Azealia Banks switches support from Donald Trump to Kamala Harris

‘212’ rapper and hip-hop’s resident troublemaker Azealia Banks has announced that she is switching her political allegiance just a day before the US election. On November 4th, the Fantasea creator revealed that she wouldn’t be endorsing Donald Trump before explaining that her reasons were mainly motivated by a hatred for X owner Elon Musk.

Banks has shown hesitation about the Democratic candidate and has referred to her on many occasions as “Dumala”. Still, she is more concerned about Tesla billionaire Elon Musk’s involvement in US politics and has attempted to convince her fans that he doesn’t need more power or money.

Taking to Musk’s social media platform X, Banks detailed her concerns, writing, “I really think keeping Elon Musk away from any type of political power in the USA is tantamount to any issue on the table here.”

Since 2023, the tech billionaire has been an advocate of the Republican Party. After promoting the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, during the primaries, he turned his attention to Donald Trump and has since become one of Trump’s most loyal celebrity supporters.

Banks explained that it is evident that Musk isn’t after anything but money and influence, writing, “You have to be a complete idiot to think that dirtbag cares about anyone or anything other than himself. He’s already been given way too much taxpayer money – Allowing him to ascend to any position of political authority is very f***ing dangerous!”

The ‘Anna Wintour’ rhymer asserted that it is impossible to become the wealthiest person in the world by being honest and theorised that Musk must be a serial liar, posting, “One does not become the richest man in the world because of honesty and good character lol, you must be an expert liar, thief and cheater to become that.”

She then went on to address America’s influx of migrants, shutting down claims that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) “flew in a bunch of illegal aliens simply for votes.” Instead, she labelled Musk’s comments as “actual stupidity” and claimed, “The DNC doesn’t need to import people to win an election, they can and will just steal it like they did in 2020.”

She finalised by tweeting, “I will be Voting For Kamala Harris tomorrow because Elon Musk… belongs nowhere near American Politics. The End.” In 2016, Banks was one of the first hip-hop MCs to publicly endorse Donald Trump, but in 2018, during an appearance on The Breakfast Club admitted that he was “cheapening the Presidency.”
