A woman claiming to be DMX's daughter enters estate race

The race to claim DMX’s estate has taken another turn as a woman has entered the battle claiming to be the rapper’s 15th child. It makes an already ugly situation even more complicated.

First reported by Page Six, a woman named Raven Barmer-Simmons, from Georgia got in contact with the other children of the rapper who died in April in a bid to stake her claim for his estate.

The battle for DMX’s estate looks set to rumble on for some time as three of the rapper’s sons, Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons, were made temporary administrators of the estate last week; all three were son’s from DMX’s 16-year marriage to Tashera Simmons.

“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing,” Herbert Nass, the trusts and estates attorney for the three sons, said in a statement to Page Six, confirming that the alleged children will be subjected to testing.

“All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate. We need to collect assets and pay debts and administration costs. We don’t have a lot of information about his income streams, but now the temporary administrators have been appointed, we can ask questions and expect answers.”

The estate issues extend to the late rapper’s fiancee, too, as Desiree Lindstrom, mother to DMX’s five-year-old son Exodus, unsuccessfully applied to be seen as his “common-law wife”.

The really curious thing is that it would appear DMX’s estate is worth less than $1 million, making the determination of all parties involved even more baffling.
