50 Cent reaches settlement in assault lawsuit

A photographer sued 50 Cent for assault in January, but the rapper has officially settled the lawsuit.

The plaintiff, named Guadalupe de los Santos, accused the G-Unit mogul of assaulting him in Los Angeles in September 2024.

According to People, Santos alleged that 50 approached him in an SUV and that “the front passenger door suddenly and forcefully opened, without warning or provocation, and struck [him] on his left side, knocking him and his scooter to the street.”

Santo was seeking damages for assault, battery, intentional affliction of emotional distress, and negligence.

However, around a month before a scheduled hearing in the case in the United States District Court for the Central District of Florida, 50 and Santos reached a settlement.

A motion filed on November 25th stated they “reached an agreement in principle to resolve all claims” and were “in the process of drafting and executing the formal settlement agreement.”

After the lawsuit was initially filed, 50 responded through his lawyer, calling out Santos’ attorney, Gloria Allred.

“Mr Jackson has neither been served with or seen a filed copy of a lawsuit filed by Ms Allred’s firm,” the statement read. “However, if and when such a frivolous claim is filed and served, rest assured that Mr Jackson’s legal team will swiftly move to dismiss the matter and seek the maximum costs, fees, sanctions and other remedies that are available under law.”

It continued, “Based upon the leaked reports presumably by Ms Allred, Mr Jackson is not alleged to be the driver of the vehicle or even the individual who the Plaintiff paparazzi alleges opened the door as he charged a vehicle as it drove away from the bookstore.”
