First week sales for 21 Savage’s ‘What Happened to the Streets?’ album revealed
21 Savage released his new album, What Happened to the Streets?, earlier this month. Now, the first week sales have been revealed.
What Happened to the Streets? was released on December 12th, just days after the project was announced on December 8th.
The album has debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart with 73,000 units in its first week. That figure consists of 48,000 SEA units, equaling 65.83 million streams of the album’s songs, and 25,000 pure album sales.
As well as opening at number three on the Billboard 200, the album has reached number five on the Top Streaming Albums and Top Album Sales. The album is his 10th entry on the chart and his 10th to reach the top five.
What Happened to the Streets? is 21’s fourth solo album, with guest spots from Drake, Lil Baby, GloRilla, Latto, Young Nudy, Metro Boomin, and G Herbo.
It serves as the follow-up to American Dream, which was released in January 2024 with Travis Scott, Lil Durk, Young Thug, and Doja Cat features.
In comparison to What Happened to the Streets?, American Dream debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 133,000 units.
His 2018 album, I Am Greater than I Was, also reached number one with 131,000 units. His debut album, Issa Album, released in 2017, debuted at number two with 77,000 units.
Following the release of What Happened to the Streets?, 21 responded to criticism of the project.
Taking to X, he wrote, “For the ones that don’t get it right now it will sink in later…I was lost too.” In further posts, he said, “DA REALEST IN IT,” and “The biggest change all the time.”
