YouTuber Tasha K accuses Cardi B of ruining her career
In 2019, YouTuber Tasha K was initially sued by Cardi B, and in 2022, a judge ordered her to pay more than $2.5 million in damages and another $1.3 million in legal fees incurred by Cardi. That said, the cultural commentator who had amassed a very large following on YouTube with her series Unwine With Tasha K, was effectively made financially ruined due to the amount she was forced to pay after the ruling.
Tasha K was found to have spread lies about Cardi B concerning drug use, STDs and prostitution, claiming the rapper performed “with beer bottles on f*cking stripper stages” and, in other videos, said the superstar had contracted herpes, as well as engaged in prostitution.
A ruling in 2023 resulted in the YouTuber filing for bankruptcy, telling judges she had less than $60,000 in assets. Still, Cardi B’s lawyers spent months legally pursuing the money, including from her YouTube monetisation account.
As such, Tasha K has recently spoken out against Cardi B, accusing her of attempting to ‘sabotage’ her career. In a new suspected lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Tasha K (real name LaTasha Kebe) the gossip blogger has insisted the Invasion Of Privacy creator was bullying her financially and has attempted to expose her alleged use of tax havens by highlighting “offshore trust accounts in the Cook Islands, Nevis, and Georgia.”
Despite numerous petitions Kebe’s lawyers have filed in court to appeal the decision, Cardi B wants the judge to toss her bankruptcy case and block her from refiling for the next two years. Not only has Cardi claimed she is still living a life of luxury, but recently, Kebe was bragging about completely selling out of VIP tables at her New Year’s Eve celebration, which was attended by 400 of her ‘Winos’ fanbase at the Bayou City Event Centre in Houston.
Tasha K’s provocative YouTube commentary and potentially libellous claims about celebrities have led to more than one lawsuit. She has had legal brushes with Kevin Hart, R. Kelly, Soulja Boy, and Bishop Lamor Whitehead, although the latter had his case dismissed.
Cardi B, who has recently been dealing with her divorce from Offset, has promised fans the follow-up to her 2018 debut studio album Invasion of Privacy this year, telling followers on Instagram, “I don’t even want to take d*ck right now because every single time I do, I get distracted.”
She continued, “January is very, very important, and I have a mission to complete. If I don’t, it’s gonna mess up the whole schedule for this year. I don’t even want to entertain n*ggas because I’m the type of person that, if I text you and you ain’t text me back in 30 minutes, you pissed me off. ‘So now I’m p***ed at you for a whole two hours, so now I’m distracted. So I don’t even want to entertain n****s right now until my work is out the way.”
It is unclear whether or not Tasha K has filed an official lawsuit, but it appears she is trying to cut her losses.
