Young Thug wants to sign Kodak Black to his YSL label.

Kodak released his new project, Kodak the Blessing, on June 12th, marking the end of his record deal with Capitol Records.

The Florida rapper announced the news of his independence on Instagram Live following the project’s release.

After the revelation, Thug took to X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend to reveal that he wants to bring Kodak onto his label. So much so, he would pay whatever he wants.

“If he would do a deal with me, I would give that boy whateva he think he want #NoCizzy,” he wrote. Kodak has yet to respond to the offer.

Current artists signed to YSL include Thug, Strick, T-Shyne, Yung Kayo, Tezzus, Diamond*, and 1300Saint, with Thug releasing his last album, UY Scuti, on the label in September 2025 following his release from prison. Past signees include Lil Baby, Gunna, Lil Keed, and Nice Vicious.

Thug previously collaborated with Kodak on the song ‘Top Off Benz’, which appeared on Kodak’s 2017 album, Painting Pictures. The track has over 10 million streams on Spotify.

Kodak signed to Capitol Records in October 2022 after ending his deal with Atlantic Records. He released two studio albums on Capitol: 2023’s When I Was Dead and 2025’s Just Getting Started.

He also released several mixtapes, including Dieuson Octave, Trill Bill, Gift for the Streets, and Kodak the Blessing.

Kodak the Blessing consists of 26 songs, with guest appearances coming from G Thugg, Shadea Charai, 1900Rugrat, Albee Al, Fridayy, Reese Youngn, Rylo Rodriguez, and Lil Crix. While announcing the project, he said, “IM FINNA TEAR THIS SHIT UP RIGHT KWIK JUST FWM.”
