Young Thug’s sister provides fresh update on rapper’s new music

Young Thug was released from prison in October after accepting a plea in his YSL RICO case, with the rap world patiently waiting for the Atlanta native to release new music. But according to his sibling, fans won’t have to wait much longer.

The ‘Lifestyle’ rapper’s sister, Dora, took to X (formerly Twitter) on November 28th to give fans a positive update about new material. She claims Thugger is working hard on songs in the studio that his followers will be impressed by, and the delay is due to all of the sadness he’s experienced over the years.

“My brother is going crazy with the new music,” she wrote. “I promise y’all won’t be disappointed. Just give him time to heal mentally. Rmr he lost 4 ppl in 2022 and went to jail, fought a case for 2yrs. In the mix of fighting for his life we lost our sister in 2023. He’s coming.”

Just days after his release, Young Thug made a collaboration request to Lil Baby, writing on X, “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter.” Baby replied on Instagram, “I missed you mf!!!! Welcome home my brudda! Thank God you able to get back to your fam in good health and spirits! Wish ya none but billions jack! #whatwhamsaysgoes.”

Thug, who was sentenced to time served and 15 years of probation, delivered a heartfelt speech before walking out of trial, recognising how rap lyrics can be “twisted” and the impact they have on people. He promised to change his lyrical content, with an eye to rap about different things now that he’s an “older” and “smarter” person.

“I take full responsibility for my crimes or charges,” he said. “I want to say sorry to my family, my mum, my managers, my kids, and everyone involved. I am a smart guy with a good heart, but I found myself in trouble because I was too nice or cool. I hope you allow me to go home today and trust me to do the right thing. I promise I won’t be in this situation again. I’ve learned from my mistakes.”

He continued, “I come from nothing and made something, but I didn’t take full advantage of it. I’m sorry for the extra time everyone had to put in. I know what I bring to the table and the impact I have on people. I’ve learned a lot in the past two or three years, and I understand what I mean to this world. I am a good guy and have done a lot for my community.”
