Young Thug brings T.I. out of retirement for reunion following jail release
Following his release from jail on October 30th, Young Thug has kinked up with one of his earliest supporters, Atlanta star T.I. was a mentor to Thugger when he was coming up and has championed the YSL founder since the beginning.
After accepting a plea deal offered to him by Judge Paige Whittaker Young Thug, the emcee was restricted from entering the metropolitan area of Atlanta. However, he has still managed to link up with T.I. for old time’s sake.
In a video posted to social media recently, Young Thug can be seen spending some quality time with his longtime friend, mentor and former collaborator. The ‘Best Friend’ rhymer can be seen cooking something while embracing the Grand Hustle legend.
In the clip posted to Instagram, Thugger teases a comeback track that may see T.I. come out of his recent rap retirement. The pair flashed big smiles to the camera. In the video, Tip asks Young Thug, “Aye, man. What you gotta tell these people?” To which the Jeffrey creator responded, “Back, Jack […] No cap in my rap. The right way.”
T.I., who revealed last month that he would be delivering his last-ever performance in December and releasing his final studio album, then captioned the video, writing, “Yeahhhhh YKWTFGO. The Kings have Reconvened #KingJeffrey #KingSr Guess I’m officially outta retirement [shrug emoji] For tonight [crying face emoji] #welcomehome.”
The ‘Life Your Life’ emcee isn’t the only Atlanta rapper Young Thug has hinted at collaborating with since his release. In one of his first social media posts, the YSL founder also publicly reached out to Lil Baby for a new collaboration.
Taking to X, he wrote, “Wham, let’s drop one on these rats peter.” Lil Baby then quietly responded by posting a video on Instagram soundtracked by his and Thug’s song ‘We Should.’
The It’s Only Me rhymer also gave Thug a warm welcome home, writing in a follow-up post, “I missed you mf!!!! Welcome home my brudda! Thank God you able to get back to your fam in good health and spirits! Wish ya none but billions jack! #whatwhamsaysgoes.”
For the moment, it looks like Young Thug has plenty of surprises for fans, and many are even preparing themselves for a potential mixtape or album as he makes connections following his recent release from jail.
