Young Buck accepts plea deal to avoid prison sentence

Former G-Unit rapper Young Buck has avoided a prison sentence by accepting a plea deal.

The 44-year-old (real name David Brown) agreed to the deal in Sumner County, Tennessee, after pleading guilty to domestic assault and felony gun charges in 2020.

According to WKRN News 2, Buck’s trial was previously delayed from July 2024 to January 12th, 2026, after his attorney was granted an extension for health reasons.

As part of the plea, Buck must comply with an alcohol and drug assessment within 60 days. In addition, he’s agreed to mandatory compliance and no violent contact with his ex-girlfriend, Lucresia Neal, who allegedly shot him six years ago.

He must report to Sumner County Community Corrections and forfeit all seized property and weapons.

Buck was arrested in April 2025 after reportedly missing a meeting with his bond supervisor, with the rapper being sentenced to a month in prison. He was instructed to meet with them twice a month while on bond supervision, but failed to stick to that agreement.

Following his mugshot surfacing, former friend and collaborator 50 Cent made fun of the shape of his head. “Damn how dat [ninja] head get like that,” he wrote on Instagram. “Police must’ve hit him in the head. LOL.” The

50 also shared a GIF of the title character from the 2010 animated movie Megamind, suggesting Buck looks like him. “I gotta get back to work, LOL,” he wrote.

Buck released two albums on 50’s G-Unit label. Both 2004’s Straight Outta Cashville and 2007’s Buck the World reached number three on the Billboard 200 chart.

Although he hasn’t dropped an LP since, he’s released many EPs and mixtapes, with his latest project, Target Practice, arriving in July 2025.
