Wu-Tang Clan receive ‘Global Impact Award’ in Memphis

Wu-Tang Clan were presented with the ‘Global Impact Award’ at the second annual Power of Music Honors week.

The event, hosted by the Soulsville Foundation, took place at the Crosstown Theater, in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 30th.

This year, Wu-Tang were the deserved winners of the major award for carrying their music beyond performance.

Group members Cappadonna and Masta Killa were in attendance to accept the award and speak on being recognised.

“It feels cultural, feels educational, feels spiritual,” Cap said. “I’m just glad to be here, man. I’m glad to be in the midst of all of this loveliness, man. And doing what we doing, you know, and talking about music and talking about love and talking about people talking about culture.”

He added, “You know, that’s what hip-hop is all about, man, so just wrap that all up in the one bag and you get the professionals, and we here.“

The Power of Music Honors is far from the only major ceremony Wu-Tang Clan are attending this year. They were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the event set to take place on November 14th.

Reacting to the news, RZA said, “In all Humility. This announcement filled me with joy, proudness, profound achievement, and awe. I’m grateful to all my brothers and those who helped us on the path. Thank you Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is a true Triumph – Wutang Forever.”

GZA also said, “We made it. THANK YOU!!!! 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductees. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without our hip hop predecessors, fans, collaborators, friends and family. We thank you.”
