Woman accused of plotting to kill popular Sydney rapper

A woman has been charged after being accused of plotting to murder a popular Sydney rapper.

23-year-old Rebekah Hansell was taken into custody on May 13th after police officers raided her home in the suburb of Whalan.

According to 9News, authorities say Hansell played an “extremely serious” role in targeting Ay Huncho in a failed assassination plot last month. She was charged with conspiring to murder and participating in criminal group activity.

Officers claim she was involved in the coordination of organised crimes such as shootings, conspiracy to murder, firearm offences, and staging vehicles.

The woman allegedly supplied weapons and took images of Huncho before sending them to gunmen, with the intention of killing the rapper as he walked to his car after a football match.

Superintendent Jason Box said, “They are sitting in vehicles with knives waiting for someone to present themselves, assisting in conspiracy to murder. It is concerning that it is young men and women committing these acts.”

Huncho is allegedly a high-ranking member of the Alameddine crime network, based in Western Sydney.

Just last month, a 15-year-old was charged with kidnapping and assaulting Huncho’s bodyguard. The child was among five people arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping in Guildford.

Police alleged that 32-year-old Emilio Chalhoub was forced into a car at around 11:30pm on April 20th. The car was found burnt out in Villawood, with armed officers finding the man in a Casula property with facial injuries.

Huncho has over 86,000 Instagram followers and 121,000 monthly Spotify listeners. His biggest song, ‘Designer Love‘, has over five million streams. Other tracks like ‘Celine’, ‘Up the Score’, ‘Putrid Shit’, and ‘Night Riders’ also have millions of streams.
