Witness describes Nipsey Hussle's final moments

Earlier this month, the trial surrounding the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle began. Now, another victim of the attack has come forward claiming that they saw the late hip-hop hero in his final moments.

According to a report in Rolling Stone, Shermi Villanueva, 47, recalled what he saw after Nipsey’s alleged killer, Eric Holder, shot him outside of The Marathon Clothing Store. “He shot me. He shot me,” Villanueva claimed Nipsey said as he lay on the ground in a pool of blood.

“I heard it, and then I saw Nipsey fall,” Villanueva continued. “When I looked and see Nipsey, I started to run.”

Villanueva was also a victim of the attack. He was shot in the sternum, and after realising this, he refused medical help from the paramedics on the scene. His uncle, who was talking to Nipsey before the shooting, was also shot in the lower back.

“[My Uncle] was like, ‘I’m shot also.’ We were paying attention to Nipsey, and he was like, ‘I’m shot also,’” Villanueva declared. “I told him, ‘Don’t move,’ because he said he was shot in his back, and it was possible he could have a spinal injury.”

Police believe a dispute between Holder and Nipsey began after the ‘Racks In The Middle’ rapper accused Holder of being a snitch. Allegedly, this incensed the defendant, who is said to have returned to the scene with weapons.

Eric Holder was arrested in April 2019, after he allegedly shot Nipsey Hussle over ten times outside of the Marathon Clothing Store in March that year. Holder is facing one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
