Watch Nipsey Hussle design cannabis strain in new documentary

A clip has been released from a new documentary about Nipsey Hussle which shows him creating a new strain of cannabis.

The late rapper was tragically shot dead outside his store in South Los Angeles in 2019. Unfortunately, the pandemic has halted the case, and it won’t be until next month when suspect Eric Holder will stand in front of a jury at a Los Angeles court.

“We have been looking forward to the day that we could present evidence in court on this case. But for the COVID emergency, this case would have been tried quite some time ago,” said Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney John McKinney.

The film, The Marathon (Cultivation), followed Nipsey as he was beginning his music career, and also opened his own cannabis dispensary that sold his strain, ‘Marathon OG’ which was produced by The Cure Company.

It also features guest contributions from huge names such as Snoop Dogg and premiered last Friday. Additionally, at the weekend, the cannabis retailer The Marathon (Collective) was opened in Los Angeles.

In a statement, his brother, Samiel ‘Blacc Sam’ Asghedom commented about the store: “This is something we always spoke about. Nipsey, Fatts, Adam, and I had a goal to get a legitimate licensed store and have our brand in other stores across the state. We’re so honoured to be able to fulfil the dream.”
