Will Smith responds to claims he has links to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Rapper turned Oscar-award-winning actor Will Smith has recently addressed many of the rumours circulating online about his relationship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The two have been seen together on multiple occasions in the past, but Smith has asked people to stop associating him with the musician.

During a speech on December 12th in San Diego, Smith unveiled he was aware of the public scrutiny he was under and expressed that he was unhappy with his name being tarnished by conspiracy theorists looking to find a link between him and Combs. The Bad Boy founder is currently in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The number of accusers coming out against Combs is overwhelming, and more than a dozen women and a dozen men have sued Combs for allegations of sexual assault. The emcee has pled not guilty to all charges ahead of his trial in May 2025.

Many rumours about various artists, including Jay-Z and Smith, have been circulating on social media. However, concerning the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, unfounded rumours have alleged that he was a regular attendee of Combs’ mansion parties. As such, many have concluded that he may have been involved in the rhymer’s “freak offs”, which Smith denies.

The public has been mocking Smith online by sharing photos of him and Combs, insinuating he was a witness to some of Diddy’s alleged crimes. In a video obtained by TMZ, Smith can be seen telling a crowd, “I just wanna say this very clearly: I don’t have sh*t to do with Puffy, so you all can stop all them memes.”

An angry Smith continued, “Y’all can stop all of that bullsh*t. I ain’t been nowhere near no damn’ freak off!’ I ain’t been nowhere near that man, ain’t did none of that stupid sh*t.” Smith then joked, “I ain’t even like baby oil,” referencing the 1,000 bottles of baby oil that were seized from Combs’ LA mansion in a Homeland Security raid in March. They are thought to be supplies for the alleged “freak offs”.

He concluded, “This is the first time I’ve said this publicly… I don’t usually respond to dumb stuff, but you know, y’all memes was doing too much, it was having me mad.” Smith’s comments come days after an accuser referred to as “Jane Doe” claimed that musician Jay-Z raped her at a VMAs afterparty in 2000 when she was 13 years old along with Combs.

Jay-Z issued a strongly worded statement denying the allegations against him on December 9th, and his attorney Alex Spiro described the case as “a shakedown” by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who has said he will file approximately 150 lawsuits.
