Wendy Williams believes Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will face life in prison
Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams has commented on Sean’ Diddy‘ Combs and has opened up about her previous experiences with him. During an appearance to The Breakfast Club on January 16th, Williams spoke about the mogul’s charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
The 60-year-old retired host, who has spent time around Combs in the past, told the hosts Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious, “Diddy will go to prison for life, people! You don’t know things that I knew about Diddy back in the day.”
However, she audaciously asserted that she wants the Bad Boy founder to receive a life sentence after his trial in May, stating, “And you know what, it’s about time. It is about time. Diddy done.”
Williams appeared on the radio show alongside her niece, Alex Finnie, and talked about her conservatorship, which she compared to a “prison.” The TV icon, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023, also claimed that she can’t leave the facility where she’s being held and unveiled that she only has $15 to her name.
Williams and Combs have had a somewhat hostile relationship over the years, and the iconic talk show host has previously admitted that she has contempt for Combs. She has previously blamed the No Way Out creator for “single-handedly” ruining her career and alleged that he was responsible for getting her fired from her popular Hot 97 radio show in 1998.
In her 2004 memoir The Wendy Williams Experience, the New Jersey television personality wrote, “The hell he put me through. I will never forget. But I don’t hate him.” Furthermore, during a 2019 talk show episode, Williams suggested that Combs once had a group of girls jump her.
Speaking to the audience, she detailed, “Once upon a time, there was a music mogul who sent his all-girl group to beat my ass in front of the radio station. Fact! I finished my shift, round up my headphones, put my bag [on] my arm and I see everybody lined up at the window looking down on the sidewalk.” She didn’t describe the supposed bust-up that followed.
Concerning the currently incarcerated producer, his lawyers recently filed a letter to the court on January 14th, claiming his “innocence” in the sexual encounters known as “freak-offs.” His lawyers, including Marc Agnifilo, insist that the videos in the court’s possession “depict clearly consensual sex among willing adults in a decades-long relationship.” However, many of the plaintiffs may disagree.
The Bad Boy rapper was charged with sex trafficking and racketeering in September and pled not guilty. He’s currently jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, having been denied bail three times, and his trial is set to begin on May 5th.
