Vince Staples shares album release date and new single 'Rose Street'

Vince Staples has released his new single, ‘Rose Street’, and also confirmed when his new album will arrive.

Ramona Park Broke My Heart will drop on April 8th and marks Staples’ second record for Blacksmith Recordings and Motown Records UK. ‘Rose Street’ is the latest single from the forthcoming record following ‘Magic’ which enlisted Mustard as a producer. It was a strong return from the Californian, and the consistently mesmerising rapper has continued to produce on his latest release.

The new album was recorded simultaneously as his eponymous 2021 release, and Staples says it promises to be another “personal” record.

The rapper spoke about the title and said: “It’s symbolic of home. And everyone has a home. Even though it’s very personal to me, everyone can relate to it. That’s why I thought it would work for this chapter.”

Staples then compared it with his 2021 album, and added: “There’s a direct correlation. They were kind of created at the same time. I was in a similar state of mind.”

He continued: “I’m still working through things and the questions that life poses. This album will make even more sense if you heard the previous one. This one has more answers.”

Meanwhile, Staples also recently discussed how Mac Miller helped take him under his wing when he was a rookie. “He gave me advice but also opportunity, I would say is the easiest way to put it,” he explained.

“Like, ‘You should be doing more music, but I’m also gonna help you with the beats. And I’m not gonna charge you, and I’m gonna take you on tour, and I’m gonna kind of help you figure out how tour goes, and I’m gonna make sure you don’t have any expenses on tour.’ And that kind of just put me in a good position to be set up.”
