Vic Mensa released from custody following arrest on drug charges

Vic Mensa has broken his silence following his arrest for allegedly carrying hallucinogenic drugs.

The rapper flew back into America on Saturday night after visiting Ghana with fellow Chicago native Chance The Rapper. During their trip, the two even met President Akufo-Addo. However, upon his return at the weekend, Mensa was detained at Dulles International Airport, near Washington D.C.

He was pulled in for a secondary search by U.S. Customs Agents at the airport. They allegedly discovered 41 grams of LSD, 124 grams of psilocybin capsules, 178 grams of psilocybin gummies, and six grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Daniel Escobedo, Area Port Director for CBP’s Area Port of Washington, commented, “Narcotics interdiction remains a Customs and Border Protection enforcement priority and we remain committed to working closely with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to ensure that those who transport illegal narcotics into the United States are investigated and prosecuted.”

It was confirmed to Consequence by The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority that Mensa “was arrested on four felony charges related to possession of a controlled substance”.

Mensa was then transferred to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center after his arrest.

Now, he’s taken to Twitter to post, ‘wow what a trip’, which he followed hours later with “i’m freeeeeee” and telling his fans, “love you all”, before concluding, “god works in mysterious ways”.
