Update on Lil Durk’s life behind bars revealed following murder charge
Last week, Lil Durk was arrested and charged with the serious crime of murder-for-hire in South Florida. The ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later’ rhymer was arrested in Broward County and taken straight into police custody. Now in the hands of US Marshals, he will remain incarcerated with no bail until his extradition and trial in California.
Lil Durk’s arrest and immediate incarceration relate to a 2022 incident that saw Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, murdered in Los Angeles during an attempted drive-by shooting. The people involved in the drive-by were investigated, and last week, police confirmed that there is evidence that links the incident to Lil Durk’s OTF label. As such, five other members of the OTF collective have been arrested and detained.
Furthermore, the prosecution have suggested that a currently anonymous member of the collective was offering “lucrative music opportunities” to anyone who was willing to kill their target, Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo.
Even though he is now behind bars at the Federal Detention Center in Miami facing charges for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as the use of, carry and discharge of firearms and a machinegun, the Chicago native is apparently holding up relatively well in prison.
According to an anonymous source near Durk, who recently spoke to TMZ, the ‘Backdoor’ rhymer is in “great spirits.” According to the source, Durk’s only issue with the prison is the food. Still, the source revealed that the rapper is “super charming” and “agreeable” and has apparently been getting along well with other inmates and officers.
According to the source, the rapper still has strong support from his family and close friends. Lil Durk’s longtime girlfriend, India Royale, was spotted at his court hearing on October 29th and his ten-year-old son Zayden even released a statement about his father’s predicament reading, stating: “I want to take a moment to stand up for my dad, Durk Banks. He has always dedicated his life to uplifting others and giving back to our community through his organization, Neighborhood Heroes. Beyond that, he is a great father who has always supported and loved our family unconditionally.”
Although Lil Durk may be feeling okay due to his support system, the Chicago native could face the death penalty for his alleged actions if he is found guilty by prosecutors. Quando Rondo has spoken out since his incarceration, but it is doubtful that Lil Durk has heard much.
